Last week was a very busy week for Nexus Network Director Professor James Wilsdon. On Monday 23 June 2014, James spoke about ‘The Nexus Network: new connections in food, water, energy and the environment’ to researchers from the University of Warwick and explained how they could get involved in the Network.
On Wed 25 June 2014, James was joined by Professor Ian Bateman, from the Nexus Network team, at the Global Food Security workshop on ‘Nexus thinking for food security‘. The event brought together around fifty senior industry and public sector decision-makers with academics whose research interests span the nexus topics. The results of the day will be used to inform interdisciplinary research priorities. The Global Food Security programme hopes that by integrating the management and governance of these resources across sectors and scales, a nexus approach would enhance water, energy and food security by increasing efficiency, reducing trade-offs, building synergies and improving governance across sectors.
And on Friday 27 June 2014 many of the Nexus Network team were at Nexus Network- Defra join workshop on ‘Joining-up across natural resource and social sustainability issues‘. You can read about this on the Nexus Network blog.
