Awarded a Nexus Network networking grant in April 2015, the Nexus Brexit project led by Dr Guy Ziv, University of Leeds, has been focusing on the consequences that Brexit could have on UK water-food-energy systems and the natural environment. Following the decision taken by the UK public in June 2016 to leave the EU, the team used the data gathered throughout the course of the project to test three scenarios based around possible future relationships between the UK and the EU in order to assess the potential impacts of different levels of UK-EU integration on energy, food and water demand in the UK. The “Nexus Brexit” final report describing their findings is now available.
