Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus announced

The £2.45 million Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus will contribute to more effective policy-making by pioneering, testing and promoting evaluation approaches and methods across the energy, environment and food nexus, where complexity presents a challenge to policy interventions.

The Centre will be led by Professor Nigel Gilbert at the University of Surrey, with Deputy Director, Ben Shaw, from the University of Westminster. The Centre will involve researchers from the University of Surrey, Cranfield University, Durham University, Newcastle University, University of Warwick, University of Westminster, University of York and Risk Solutions. Partner organisations include the European Academy of Technology and Innovation Assessment; and Arizona State University.

The Centre is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council, in collaboration with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; the Department of Energy and Climate Change; the Environment Agency; and the Food Standards Agency.
